Resin Bound Driveways in Leeds & Yorkshire
Explore resin-bound driveway options for your home in Leeds, Wakefield or elsewhere in Yorkshire. We can discuss colours, edging and the preparation your site needs. Drainage and permeability depend on the complete surface and base construction, so these should be assessed for your project.
Our Resin Driveway Services
Resin-bound surfacing offers a choice of aggregate colours and can be considered alongside borders and edging to suit your property. Tell us how you use the space and the appearance you want to achieve.
Consider the Complete Construction
The existing surface, base, levels and drainage affect the project. A decorative finish alone does not guarantee that the completed driveway will be permeable. Discuss the full construction and its suitability before choosing the system.

Choosing Your Resin Driveway
- Colours and aggregate — Discuss the appearance and finish you prefer.
- Drainage — Check the suitability of the complete surface and base construction.
- Intended use — Tell us which vehicles and pedestrian routes the driveway needs to accommodate.
- Care and maintenance — Ask for cleaning and care guidance for the installed system.
- Finishing details — Discuss edging, transitions and access requirements for your property.
Preparation and drainage come first
Resin-bound surfaces look best when the base underneath is right. The resin and stone layer needs a firm, stable base laid to gentle falls, so water drains through the surface or runs away rather than sitting on it. Tell us about any low spots, soft ground or places where water collects, and we will look at levels and drainage at the free survey.
Resin-bound paving is water-permeable when it is laid on a suitable permeable base, which helps with the rules on paving front gardens. In England, hard surfaces over 5 square metres at the front of a house normally need planning permission unless rainwater can drain naturally. If your drive crosses the pavement you may also need your council’s permission for a dropped kerb. We can talk you through both at the survey.
Can it go over my existing drive?
Sometimes. If your current tarmac or concrete is sound, flat and in good condition, resin-bound can often be laid over it. If the existing surface is cracked, sinking or holding water, the base needs repairing or replacing first, because problems underneath will show through. We will tell you honestly which applies once we have seen it.
Timescales and weather
Resin has to be laid in dry conditions and needs time to cure, so the weather affects when the work can be done. The timescale depends on the size of the area, the base work needed and the conditions, so we agree a realistic timescale with you when we book the work. We will tell you when you can walk, drive and park on the new surface.
Looking after a resin-bound driveway
Sweep leaves and debris regularly, brush away weed seeds and moss, and wash the surface gently when it needs it. Wipe up oil and fuel spills quickly. A little regular care keeps the finish looking clean and open for drainage.
What affects the cost
The price depends on the area, whether the existing surface can stay or has to be removed, the amount of base work, drainage, edging, the stone and colour you choose, and access for machinery. That is why we survey first and give you a fixed written quote. Try our driveway cost calculator for a guide before you book, or take the driveway surface quiz to compare resin-bound with tarmac and block paving.
